A woman has been burned to death by a man who tried to rape her, police in India have said.
Reena
Koli, 35, refused to have sex with Rambharan Yadav, 31, after he
allegedly forced himself on her in the building where the two were
tenants.
Yadav,
a labourer from Uttar Pradesh, allegedly poured kerosene over the woman
and set her alight on Friday after becoming enraged when she resisted
his rape attempts in Kota, Rajasthan.
He is accused of calling Roli - who is married - to his room before trying to rape her there, the Times of India reports.
Police said he was arrested at a train station on Sunday morning after fleeing the scene of the attack.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment but died from her burns on Friday.
But
she did manage to make a dying statement to police about her alleged
killer, which led to his capture, the station house officer at
Chepabarod station said.
Yadav has already appeared before a local court after being charged with murder.
Koli's body has been handed over to her family.
